Vehicle manufacturer – Siemens Mobility
Stable passenger information during fleet transitions
As part of the Mireo replacement fleet project on the MEX13 line in Baden-Württemberg, the ETC Platform serves as the central passenger information system for the entire fleet.

At a glance
The project in numbers
Investment: €340 million for the Digital Rail in Baden Württemberg
Scope: Over 460 vehicles retrofitted by the end of 2026
The challenge
Fleet changes without information disruption
When vehicles are replaced or supplemented, passenger information is often the first system to struggle: Different onboard systems, operator changes, new data flows, and tight time frames increase the risk of contradictory displays, missing real-time data, and additional effort in control centers and operations.
Especially in a replacement fleet, passenger information must function reliably from day one, otherwise operations and passenger trust suffer.
The solution
A central platform as the FIS backbone
The ETC Platform plays a central role as a backend system for the entire fleet.
This creates a stable information chain that works even with complex requirements such as the exchange of entire vehicle fleets.
Reliable exchange of real-time data between vehicles, control centers, and information systems
Dynamic passenger information consistent across the fleet, independent of the operator
Standardized integration via open interfaces to keep integration predictable and scalable faster
Relevant functions of the ETC Platform

For vehicle manufacturers
Vehicle Cloud
Standardized integration of all vehicle types with the ETC Platform.
