ETC Platform: Passenger information
Passenger information from one source
Real-time data and content from one system consistently across all channels, even in case of disruption.

Overview
An information base for the entire travel chain
The ETC Platform provides passengers with current and reliable information throughout the entire travel chain. Schedule changes, delays, cancellations, track changes, and connection hints are centrally managed and provided across all channels.
Thanks to the direct connection between the control center, operations, and distribution channels, a unified information base is created for displays, announcements, apps, websites, information systems, and external partners. This ensures passengers always receive the same information at the right time in the right place.
In addition to real-time information, planned measures such as construction sites, schedule adjustments, substitute services, and special services are also centrally maintained and published. Events can be structured, prioritized, and communicated to different passenger groups in a targeted manner.
The platform supports the coordinated provision of information across organizational and system boundaries. Transport companies, associations, infrastructure operators, and external partners access a common database to ensure consistent communication.
By centrally managing messages, events, and information objects, processes are simplified, redundancies reduced, and the quality of passenger information is sustainably improved.
Brief profile
Consistent passenger information from a single source
Distribution
Automatic distribution across all channels
Information is centrally recorded and distributed to the connected output channels within seconds. As a result, disruptions, substitute services, track changes, or connection instructions reach passengers simultaneously on speakers, displays, apps, websites, social media, and other information media.
Interfaces
Direct connection to information systems
For providing passenger information, the ETC Platform supports established industry standards such as VDV 452/453/454, VDV 736, SIRI, GTFS, and NeTEx. Schedule, real-time, forecast, and event data is automatically transferred to information systems, associations, data hubs, and external platforms.
This ensures that current information is consistently available for websites, apps, regional information systems, association platforms, and other information services.
Disruptions
Clarity in disruptions & infrastructure status
Delays, cancellations, track closures, as well as status reports on elevators, escalators, or service facilities are centrally managed and consistently published. Passengers receive understandable information and appropriate action recommendations for their journey.
Replacement services
Information on rail replacement services
The ETC Platform supports passenger information for planned and unplanned rail replacement services. Information about replacement stops, line routes, departure times, and transfer options are centrally maintained and provided on all connected channels.
Use cases
Typical use cases for passenger information
